MINISTERS OF THE WORD
The Ministers of the word proclaim the Sacred Scriptures at both weekday and Sunday Masses.
They also announce the Prayers of the Faithful.
MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST
These Ministers help with the distribution of the Sacred Host and Precious Blood at all Masses. They also minister to the housebound of the Parish by taking them Holy Communion after Sunday and sometimes weekday Masses, thus uniting them with the rest of the Parish and helping them to continue to feel part of this community.
CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD
This is a celebration of the Liturgy of the Word for young children at a level which they can understand.
This takes place at the 11.15 am Mass on Sunday mornings. It is open to all children aged 4 years and over. There is a team of people who take it in turn to prepare the celebration of God’s Word each Sunday.
(This group normally take a break during the school holidays).
PASTORAL PLANNING TEAM
A group of Parishioners who meet with the Parish Priest 3 or 4 times a year to discuss Pastoral Initiatives.
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
This is a group of men and women who work quietly and anonymously helping those in need in our community irrespective of creed, who are in trouble financially or spiritually.
LEGION OF MARY
This is a small group who meet weekly to pray the Rosary. They also visit those in the community who need someone to talk to, and pray with them.
THE PRAYER GROUP
Meet in the hall on Friday evenings from 7.30pm. - 9.30pm. They spend time praying and reflecting on Scripture and the Holy Spirit.
THIRD WORLD GROUP
This group raise money in various ways throughout the year and the money is sent via S.C.I.A.F. to some worthwhile cause in a Developing Country. At present our parish is helping an AIDS Hospice in Uganda.
FATIMA PRAYER GROUP
A group who pray the rosary on the first Saturday of every month after the 10 am Mass in honour of Our Lady of Fatima.
CHOIR
The choir only sing as a group at Christmas and Easter. For the rest of the year they remain as part of the congregation and try to encourage others in the church to sing. We have four Organists who play at various Masses.
FOLK GROUP
Play and lead the singing at 11.15 am Mass on the last Sunday of the month. They also play at other special occasions.
ALTAR SERVERS
This ministry of service is open to all boys and girls after they have made their First Holy Communion. They meet in the Church on Saturday mornings after the 10 am Mass.
BOYS’ CLUB
This group meet on Saturday mornings in the hall from 10.30 am - 12.30. It is open to all young boys in the parish from the age of 5 years.
GIRLS’ CLUB
This group meet on Wednesday evenings 7pm. - 8pm.
They have a wide variety of activities and usually put on a show for the Parish once a year.
